ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS (BOTOX®)

BOTOX, BOCOUTURE, AZZALURE, ALLUZIENCE

Botox is an injectable drug made from a purified neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A, which is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. As many of the fine lines and wrinkles on our faces are caused by the repeated contraction of our facial muscles, anti-wrinkle injections using Botox® can significantly soften their appearance, and prevent them from worsening. This is achieved by blocking nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in their movement.

It works a little like this...

  • Blocks signals: It stops nerves from sending chemical messages (acetylcholine) to muscles.

  • Relaxes muscles: The targeted muscle cannot tighten or contract.

  • Temporary effect: The paralysis wears off after about 3 to 4 months as new nerve endings grow.

We take a ‘less is more’ approach with all of our injectable treatments, treating patients conservatively to achieve beautifully natural-looking results. Whether treating frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, neck bands or a turned down mouth, our aim will always be for you to look rested, rather than ‘done’. In addition, Botox® can also be used to treat conditions including excessive sweating, teeth grinding, and headaches.
